A közgazdaságtan alapfogalmai közül talán a versenyképességgel foglalkozik a legtöbbet a szakirodalom. Ezt az egyes szerzők különböző szempontokból vizsgálják. Viszonylag ritkán foglalkoznak azonban a sport és a munkahelyi verseny közötti közvetlen kapcsolattal. Jelen munka egy saját kérdőíven alapuló kutatás keretében elemzi a kérdést. A szerzők a diákkorban versenyszerűen űzött csapatsportok hatását vizsgálják a felnőttkori munkahelyi versenyszituációkban megfigyelhető magatartásra, kiegészítve az egyéni sportokra vonatkozó korábbi munkájukat.
