Call for Papers – Thematic Issue: "Communication Management and Complexity"

2026-05-12

Communication management is an extremely complex managerial activity. As a form of management, it encompasses all elements of the process, from data collection and planning through organization and implementation management to monitoring. At the same time, it is influenced by a combination of information technology, technical, socio-psychological, corporate strategic, and financial considerations. Consequently, corporate communication leaders must be highly versatile professionals.

The Communication Management Working Committee of the MTA’s Section IX (https://kommenbiz.hu), since its establishment nearly two decades ago, seeks to reflect this complexity, identify problems, and propose solutions. Since its inception, it has pursued the goal of bringing together domestic researchers working on the field of corporate communication management, reflecting on international research trends, helping disseminate domestic findings, and providing a forum for the academic sphere and the professional world to meet and exchange ideas, encourage joint thinking, and thereby facilitate the sharing of deeper knowledge.

This thematic issue aims to reflect this complexity. It focuses on the results of current researches in three areas of communication management-academic research, higher education, and the practical, applied sphere (corporate communication management) -as well as the connections between them.

This thematic issue welcomes studies addressing issues related to any stage or key factor of the communication management process, as well as articles examining the role of communication management within the broader management system. The journal’s thematic issue may also include articles on the challenges of teaching communication management, as well as studies reporting on theoretical and practical research whose findings contribute to increasing the effectiveness of organizational communication, reducing costs, and ensuring the appropriate handling of communication security and human aspects. We place great emphasis on the intersections between various fields and academic disciplines.

The topics -and the general expectations of Vezetéstudomány / Budapest Management Review (https://journals.lib.uni-corvinus.hu/index.php/vezetestudomany/about/submissions) - we welcome Hungarian-language studies that are primarily empirical, grounded in solid methodological foundations, and draw conclusions relevant to communication management. The conclusion must include connections that can be utilized in organizational communication. Please highlight this connection in the abstract as well.
