The role of tour guides’ emotional competence in the psychological dimensions of tourist experiences

The psychological dimensions of tourism experiences constitute an important area of research, however, the role of tour guides’ emotional competence has only been limitedly studied so far. This research paper analyses the role of tour guides’ emotional competence in shaping the psychological aspects of the tourist experiences. The research applied secondary and primary methods. The secondary research reviewed relevant literature, with a focus on the role of tour guides’ emotional competence in shaping the tourist experiences. The primary data collection included observational research and questionnaire survey. The results show that the emotional interactions during guided tours have a positive impact on tourists’ emotional states.
