Abstract

In spring 2021, the fight against the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) took a positive turn thanks to vaccines.  As a result, many people have started planning or have already booked their annual holidays. In our research, we wanted to determine how the risk perception of the Covid19 pandemic influences
the overall risk perception factor for travel and holiday planning. Our online questionnaire was correctly completed by 302 university students. The results were obtained by CB-SEM analysis. The perceived risks associated with the Covid19 pandemic which we examined had a moderately strong
and significant increase on travel-related risk perception. This implies that the fears reported by Covid19 significantly determined the potential risk perceptions associated with travel during holiday planning. In addition, it became clear that this included not only health risks but also mental fears
having emerged as an even more important factor in the analysis. This requires a more complex approach than previously to measuring the impact of risk perception of the Covid19 pandemic. Practical suggestions and future research opportunities are detailed at the end of the paper.
