About the Journal

Aim and scope

Turizmus Bulletin is the scientific journal of Hungarian Tourism Agency publishing peer reviewed content. Turizmus Bulletin was founded in 1997. Turizmus Bulletin is taking care by Corvinus University of Budapest based on a long-term agreement. The journal is published 4 times a year, with articles in both Hungarian and English languages. The primary aim of the Tourism Bulletin is to publish new research on the economics of tourism (especially in the fields of tourism marketing and tourism management), but it is also open to the problems identified by researchers in related fields, focusing on social, economic and environmental impact mechanisms (especially in the fields of spatial and temporal issues, innovation, communication, sustainable development and quality of life). Given the features of tourism, Tourism Bulletin places a strong emphasis on the support of transdisciplinarity between disciplines.

Peer review

The manuscripts submitted by the authors are reviewed by two reviewers invited and apppointed by the Editorial Board. For this to be done, a form which complies with international standards and which is regularly used for this purpose, is completed. The anonimity of authors to reviewers, the anonimity of reviewers to authors is provided by the editorial board. Reviewers have 4 weeks to formulate their opinion, after which, depending on the length of the revision to be done, authors should finalise their manuscript in 3-6 weeks. Should reviewers recommend a major revision, then, only after a repeated review process and approval can the decision be made to publish the manuscript.

Information for authors

Each manuscript should fully satisfy the actual requirements regarding content and format, which are available on the website or can be asked from the editorial board. The size of the manuscripts including spaces should not exceed 6000 words. In case they contain illustrations, their location in the text planned by the author should be indicated and it is also necessary to supply a reference (e.g. Figure 1) in the text. Illustrations should primarily serve to support the message. Their number, their proportionate size, and their aesthetic format are all required to be observed (the total number of Figures, Tables and Photos should not, if at all possible, be more than 3-5). Only print quality (at least 300 dpi resolution), grey-scale illustration should be submitted, and it is the authors responsibility to reproduce the originally coloured Figures or the Photos grey-scale. All illustrations must be legally acceptable.

Following this, the manuscript can be edited, copy edited and prepared for printing. During this period contact with the author is maintained to the necessary extent. If the author so needs, the chief editor or the head of the editorial board issues confirmation regarding the acceptance of the manuscript. If the research, which the study is based on, was supported by any organisation or company, then this should be aknowledged before the literature list.
