Abstract

This article aims to put forward a definition of personalized digital tourism, a novel concept in the realm of tourism. Despite the significant impact of technology on travel habits over the past decade, this theoretical term has yet to be defined in the field. The article introduces Personalized Digital Tourism as a comprehensive integration of theories such as Cognitive Infocommunications, the Internet of Digital Realities, behavioral research of Generation Y and Z, and AI-based data handling solutions to further enhance theoretical and practical outcomes in the tourism sector. It begins by outlining the primary contribution of the paper – the definition of Personalized Digital Tourism – and subsequently delves into related scientific approaches including CogInfoCom, Generation theories, DR, and AI. The article also highlights the rapid technological advancements in the tourism industry in recent years, emphasizing the resulting transformation of human behavior. Ultimately, the article underscores the importance of achieving a more advanced conceptual understanding of the field of tourism science.
